What is a “BLUE BIN” Project?
On a monthly or bi-monthly basis the congregation identifies an organization or group that is in need of some type of tangible item, other than money. We then collect, process, and deliver those items to the selected group. Why is it called “Blue Bin Projects or Collections”— The project is named after the very attractive blue bins that you see in the hallways!
If you have any questions, please call Dorothy Galatz (502) 896-6915 or the AJ office.
December 2009- January 2010
The COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS is in need of new or gently worn scarves, toboggans (knit hats), and blankets. Please donate any of these items during the months of December and January. Place them into AJ’s BLUE BINS, located by the main entrance any time during the months of December and January.
The COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS has been the voice of the homeless in Louisville for greater than 20 years. The Coalition’s mission is to educate, advocate, and coordinate, with a goal of eliminating unwanted homelessness in Louisville.
The blankets, scarves, and knit hats (toboggans) you donate will be distributed to our community’s homeless to help them make it through the bitter cold winter months.
